The Sudan Film Factory is a project of the Goethe-Institut Sudan.  The project’s mission is to train young Sudanese talents in the area of filmmaking – script writing, directing, cinematography, and editing.  Through the films created, Sudanese daily lives and worlds, stories and thoughts, dreams, hopes and frustrations as well as passion for cinema are expressed.

Special Guest Speaker!
Dr. Bior K. Bior first came to Vermont in 2001 as a refugee and went on to become a cell biologist, earning his graduate degree and Ph.D. from UVM where he is currently a postdoctoral fellow.  Dr. Bior recently spent time back in South Sudan as the Medical Director of a hospital in his home state.  He will be in attendance at Global Roots to talk about his experiences.
