Background to Global Roots Film Festival:

GLOBAL ROOTS This initiative began in 2013 as a means of bringing great films from the countries of many of the New American communities in Vermont, to foster a greater understanding of our diverse cultures. In 2015 it expanded to encompass other types of films made by the mosaic of cultures and persuasions we live in. In 2016, the focus was on films from the Middle East. In 2017 we presented two Global Roots festivals: Cinema from Quebec and Food and Music. In 2018 the festival focused on Disability and Film.
