From a producer of Food Inc. and Fast Food Nation, Food Chains is an award-winning documentary about the workers who pick our food. In this exposé, an intrepid group of Florida farmworkers battle to defeat the $4 trillion global supermarket industry through their ingenious Fair Food Program, which partners with growers and retailers to improve working conditions for farm laborers in the United States.

Following the film, there will be a panel discussion with farmworkers and organizers from Migrant Justice (VT) and the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (FL), moderated by Barry Estabrook, Food Chains co- producer and author of Tomatoland. We will learn about Milk with Dignity, a local campaign that has just been launched by Migrant Justice with the guidance of the Coalition of Immokalee Workers.

The event is free. Donations will be collected to benefit the work of the Coalition of Immokalee Workers and Migrant Justice. Registration encouraged, not required. Register HERE.

This screening kicks off the 30th Anniversary of the Vermont International Film Foundation in honor of its historical roots as a peace and justice film festival.

We are thrilled to have an incredible group of sponsors that have made this event possible: Shelburne Farms; UVM Food Systems Initiative; City Market; Intervale Center; Slow Food VT; NOFA VT; Vermont International Film Foundation (VTIFF); Migrant Justice Coalition of Immokalee Workers
