Racing Extinction, from the Oceanic Preservation Society and the Oscar-winning filmmakers of 2009’s The Cove, is a gripping eco-thriller documentary that examines biodiversity loss, its effect on humanity, and the solutions that inspire hope for a more sustainable future. Through a series of eye-opening investigative sequences — often using clandestine and guerilla-style approaches — the filmmakers expose a range of industrial and commercial practices that are having devastating effects on the environment and ecosystems across the planet. Documenting both the deadly consequences of the international wildlife trade and the alarming connections between carbon emissions, ocean acidification and species extinction, the film employs a collective of activists and artists who use cutting-edge technologies to bring these urgent matters to light.  ~SJ
