Burlington, VT: (Monday, April 1, 2013) The Vermont International Film Festival is pleased to present Global Roots, a new monthly series of films from the countries of New Americans living in Vermont. The series starts Sunday, April 14th, and is the second Sunday of every month at 5pm through September 2013 at North End Studios, at 294 North Winooski Avenue in Burlington. Screenings are free and open to the public, donations will be accepted to support the 2013 Vermont International Film Festival taking place October 11-20 in Downtown Burlington. Please note, a snackbar is available at the screenings, or bring your own food, films are not suitable for small children.

The Vermont International Film Festival (VTIFF) is Vermont’s longest running film festival and this year marks its 28th anniversary. The 2013 Vermont International Film Festival will run from Friday, October 11th through Sunday, October 20th, at multiple venues in downtown Burlington. The festival is best known for featuring groundbreaking and independent films from around the world and Vermont and for the Vermont Filmmakers’ Showcase, the largest juried selection of Vermont-made films.
