Shot covertly at night on the rooftops of Tel Aviv, NAZA focuses on conversations with the people involved in the calculated mass killing of Palestinian civilians. In these secret encounters, the filmmakers cut through the propaganda to confront a series of operatives with devastating facts as reported by independent outlets. The film builds on revelations published between 2023 and 2025—in the Israeli-Palestinian publication +972 Magazine, Hebrew-language outlet Local Call, and The Guardian—to reveal the systems behind Israel’s bombing of Gaza. The title refers to a military acronym euphemistically used by Israeli intelligence to indicate the number of civilians that it expects will be killed in an airstrike. Directors Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, two of the filmmakers behind the 2024 Oscar-winning documentary No Other Land, were awarded the Special Jury Prize at this year’s Venice Film Festival.
