VTIFF celebrates the international short film with six incredible works from around the world. Jenny Jokela’s Dollhouse Elephant is a riotously colorful animation about the pains and joys of apartment living. Roddy Dextre’s devastating Nobody Knows the World takes us inside the urban heart of Lima, Peru, where a young boy must deal with tremendous loss. Sally Tran’s Grandma’s Four Color Cards gives us one magical day with a 101-year-old woman in her tiny apartment in Saigon. Omar Rammal’s Kentucky Gaza tells an outlaw tale blends daily Palestinian life with the legend of Kentucky Fried Chicken. Lena Greene’s post-apocalyptic cabaret comedy Tuna Tartare is riotously funny and wholly inappropriate. And Jiin Oh’s Speedy! is a tender, funny and knowing look at the pressures we place on our children. ~SM
