Please join us for a special event to celebrate former VTIFF Executive Director Orly Yadin. First, we’ll highlight Orly the filmmaker, screening a selection of her own short films in the Film House. She’ll provide the introductions. Then we’ll step downstairs to our new space (!!!) at 60 Lake Street, right next to Skinny Pancake, where we invite you to enjoy some sweet treats and a cash bar. It’s a great opportunity to say thank you to Orly for her immense contribution to growing the film culture in our community. Pick up a 2023 VTIFF program guide as well, check out our new in-progress space, and meet new Executive Director, Steve MacQueen. Be sure to book a ticket in advance, as seating is limited.

This program is a selection of short animation films produced by Orly Yadin while living in London. Most of these films are animated documentaries – an approach to the telling of true stories and facts pioneered by various women animators in the 1980s. Orly will introduce the films. If you’re interested in the concept of documentary animation, you may read/download a transcript of a lecture by Orly given at the Imperial War Museum (London) for a conference about The Holocaust and the Moving Image.
