A masterly exercise in close-up suspense, set entirely in a police call center, The Guilty concerns a disgraced police dispatcher who sees a chance for redemption when he suspects that a distraught caller has been kidnapped. First-time director Gustav Möller uses sophisticated sound editing and relentless shallow-focus camerawork to force viewers to use their imagination to visualize the action taking place outside the police station.
