Olacapato, the highest town in Argentina, is located in a mountainous area. It is a tiny community limited by its harsh environment. The Senses reveals not only the ties between local teachers, children and their families, but also the desires and hardships of a community facing challenges in the near future. It is refreshing to see a film about the power of education that deals with ordinary people and doesn’t resort to the familiar narrative of reformed juvenile delinquents. More than any other film I saw at the Buenos Aires International Human Rights Film Festival, this was the one that stayed with me long after the screening. ~OY
