“Congratulations to VTIFF on a wonderful festival! This year, I went to the festival with some trepidation, fearing an amplification of the fatigue and desperation I was suffering in face of the daily reports of a collapsing environment and social sphere. What I found instead was energizing hope: the hope of the next generation of young, talented, committed filmmakers and activists; of tales of resistance and empowerment; and of renewed faith in the power of film to educate and rouse us, to bind us together in common purpose.
