The film follows the arc of Guru Rinpoche’s sacred biography and journey, from his immaculate birth on a lotus in northwest Pakistan; to his taming and subduing of Tibet’s demons in the 8th Century in order to establish Buddhism on the Tibetan plateau; to the central role of his Tibetan consort and main disciple, Princess Yeshe Tsogyal; and finally, his departure for the Land of the Rakshas, where he continues to subdue and tame the demons.
